One of the most impressive sites included in several "Natural Wonders of the World" lists is Natural Bridge, VA. The 215- foot high, 90-foot wide span was originally formed when a cavern collapsed hundreds of years ago, leaving the arch as it is seen today. During a summer road trip, my husband and I ventured to this location as our first stop. Walking the path under the arch is a wonderful escape into nature, and you can't help but marvel at the immensity of it all.

While Natural Bridge is certainly a sight to behold in the daytime, it takes on an entirely appearance in the dark of the evening, as the story of Creation is retold from the pages of Genesis, and the arch is illuminated with colorful lights.

Audience members gathered on the benches seen in the first photo (as well as on benches located on the other side of the arch) to listen to readings from the Bible and beautiful, sacred music during the 30-minute pageant. The colors against the dark evening sky were breathtaking!

Every scene was simply beautiful!

As the pageant continued, I was amazed at how everyone was as quiet as they could be...even the youngest of children were literally mesmerized by the changing colors!

Finally, after listening to the Lord's Prayer broadcast through the speakers, and to the almost chilling, but truly inspirational, reading of the story of Creation, the pageant ended, and everyone just seemed in awe, myself included.

As we left and I looked back to get one final glimpse of the brilliantly lighted arch, I thought to myself that this is one pageant everybody should experience. It was such an inspiring evening, and certainly one that created memories of a lifetime.
